This Halswell River project required a new weed screen installed under 3 meters of water, presenting a significant engineering challenge.
Concrete-filled Blade Piles were installed to support the structure. Each pile was capped and prepared to receive tension cables, forming a stable and durable foundation for the weed screen.
Through innovative thinking and the assistance of a certified diver to cut off the piles, we completed the project without introducing concrete into the waterway. By first installing the Blade Piles in the river bank and welding in the caps, we were able to limit the environmental impact om the surrounding ecosystem.
Blade piles provide a practical method for projects where water access, sensitive ecosystems, or restricted installation conditions make traditional construction methods impractical.
