For a 2-metre-high retaining wall behind a row of townhouses in West Auckland, 95 Blade Piles were installed to provide a stable and durable foundation. The site presented a significant challenge, with a narrow 1.6 m accessway restricting the movement of conventional machinery.
Our truck-mounted hiab, ‘Betsy’, was essential for delivering and installing the piles efficiently in the tight space. The Blade Piles transferred structural loads past the weak surface soils into competent ground below, ensuring the retaining wall remains secure and resilient over time.
Using screw piles allowed the project to be completed quickly, safely, and with minimal excavation, highlighting Blade Piles’ suitability for projects with restricted access, soft soils, or complex site constraints.
