When Mount Maunganui Beachside Holiday Park planned an extension to their kitchen and dining facilities, the foundations needed to be installed with care due to the site’s archaeological significance.
Blade Piles were the ideal solution, as the screw piling system allows piles to be installed without removing soil from the site. This means the surrounding ground, and anything that may lie beneath it, remains largely undisturbed and preserved for future generations to study and explore.
By using Blade Piles, the project team was able to create strong, reliable foundations for the new building extension while respecting the sensitive nature of the site. This project highlights how screw piles can provide an effective foundation solution in heritage or archaeologically sensitive areas, where protecting the ground is just as important as supporting the structure above.
