This Rotorua project at Lake Rotoiti involved a house addition and new sleepout on a lakefront site, with both structures designed as suspended timber floors.
Blade Piles were installed to support the addition, with 32 x 89CHS piles installed to approximately 3.5m depth to achieve suitable founding below the weaker surface layers.
Paired with adjustable timber floor pile caps, this allowed the floor structure to be set out quickly and accurately, while also providing the ability to fine-tune levels during construction.
Blade Piles are well suited to timber floor construction, providing immediate load capacity, accurate set-out, and a clean install without the need for concrete. This makes them a practical option for residential builds where speed and flexibility are important.
