Auckland New Build – Flood Zone

Auckland New Build - Flood Zone Blade Pile New Zealand

For this Auckland new build, construction was able to continue without delays from bad weather, as Blade Piles can be installed rain or shine. This reliability allowed the foundation work to stay on schedule despite challenging site conditions.

The property is located on very soft ground within a flood zone, requiring a foundation solution that could provide stability while allowing for water movement during heavy rainfall. Blade Piles were installed 10 metres deep, transferring the structural loads through the weak surface soils into stable ground below.

The home was then constructed on a ring beam timber floor, allowing floodwater to flow safely underneath the building if required. By using screw piles, the project team created a secure, elevated foundation system suited to soft soils and flood-prone environments, ensuring long-term stability without compromising the build timeline.
